CABINET REFINISHING IN 10 EASY STEPS
- The free estimate appointment is set and a brief overview is discussed in order to get a better idea of the project.
- At the time of the estimate (20-30 minutes), the scope of the project is discussed and an estimated cost is available at that time. Sample doors are available at the request of the client.
- In order to proceed, general or specific colors are chosen, dates and times are set and instructions given.
- Before we arrive, the counters need to be cleared. Items need to be removed within the first four inches of the inside of the cabinetry.
- Kitchen cabinet face frames are taped and appliances and countertops are covered. In most cases, the contents of the cabinets do not need to be removed.
- The wood is lightly sanded in damaged areas.
- The wood is degreased and chemically prepared for hand-rubbed staining. Glazing and texturing can be applied to enhance or to hide the wood grain.
- The wood is restored to the original color, enhanced with additional/new colors, or darkened (depending on the service you chose). All wood is refinished including: inside and outside of doors, framing/carcass of cabinetry, panels, trim and molding.
- Finishes are applied to all surfaces (satin/matte, semi-gloss or high gloss).
- All surfaces require an 8-10 hour dry time with a 24 hour cure time.
